Postmodern Jukebox Showdown: Which is the best PMJ tune?

For the uninitiated who have not seen earlier posts here regarding them, Postmodern Jukebox is a musical outfit devoted to setting modern songs to vintage genres and tones. Imagine the theme to “Friends” performed in the styles of eight different decades. They did it.

Below are my three favorite renditions they have done. That is not to disparage other works. Indeed, as I write this, I can think of a couple of others that should probably be included. But the line must be drawn somewhere.

You be the judge as to which is best.

I made the suggestion to PMJ:

“Let me pass along a suggestion: A TV series involving a couple of people who “time slip” back 100 years to mid-1920s. They use their 21st-century knowledge of music to make a living doing the PMJ thing, probably with their own speakeasy or such.

“My specific vision: A male and female who don’t know each other before the slip. One liberal and one conservative for personality contrasts, but there is no need to be actively socio-political. Musical styles could probably go into the 1940s without being TOO anachronistic. Just “cutting edge” and “ahead of their time.”

“With all the things people do on the Internet nowadays, just seems doable.”
