Nothing in this post should negate anything I've said about California needing to be militarily occupied for two generations of cleaning.

Avoiding "assault weapon" disputes in order to standardize and secure a "Militia Rifle" has long been a thought of mine. Here are two videos from ostensibly pro-gun police officers (I know) in California (I know) featuring military-style-ish/grade-ish rifles. While I stand by my position that an AK-pattern, Saiga-type rifle in .308 would be the ideal Militia arm for untrained civilians (see end), these rifles make the point about efficacy not requiring the so-called "evil features."

I have handled neither of these arms.

Price jump in crisis situations supposedly makes people only buy what they need, leaving some for others. It has its weaknesses to say the least, but it's the nature of our economic system. An alternative would be a government-directed rationing system--so much ammo per family based on size, nature, caliber, and need. MY COMMENT : (VIDEO WAS SPONSORED BY A COMPANY SELLING SUCH GEAR.) Non-vet civilians will never (legitimately) be running fire-and-maneuver calling for all that gear. In a real and legitimate Militia situation they will be fire support, set-position defense, and logistics. A simple mag pack is quite sufficient. Beyond that, anything much more than a pack or such for evacuating in a disaster is a hobby at best and a delusion at worst. I'm a vet. I served in a combat zone. I have a vest, CamelBak, and pack which I acquired during my service, and keep solely to be able to quickly bug out of town in a disaster, be it on foot or in an official evac vehicle with limited space. To non-vet LARPers: Buy what you want. Support this guy's sponsor. But keep in mind you are NOT the same as veterans. You lack the training and DISCIPLINE that veterans had drilled into them.
