We need another push by our Missouri grassroots so that we can see this important bill cross the finish line! As a reminder, Representative Paul Curtman is the sponsor of the ALAC bill in the House (HB1512) and Senator Brian Nieves is the sponsor of the legislation in the Senate (SB676). Both of these proposals would protect Missourians from foreign laws or legal doctrines where the application of those laws/doctrines would violate those constitutional rights. It's that simple. Representative Curtman's bill, HB1512, has passed in the House of Representatives and is expected to now be considered in the Senate. We have been told that the bill will be placed on the Senate calendar, but we must let the Senate Majority Leader, Tom Dempsey, know that Missourians expect HB1512, the Civil Liberties Defense Act, to be brought up for a vote during this session. Therefore, we need your help immediately with the action item noted below: ** IMPORTANT ACTION ITEM ** We need your help TODAY in sending a strong message of support for HB1512 to Senator Tom Dempsey, the Senate Majority Leader.
