From ACT! for America: Textbook analysis (on teaching about Islam) report released today!

Political correctness/liberalism states that minority, tradition-opposing, immoral, and even enemy ideas must be given special, higher consideration than majority, traditional, righteous, and loyal/allied ideas of America and the West.  The stated purpose to overcome the natural advantage of the majority, traditional, righteous, and loyal/allied ideas.  It is the application of Marxist "Critical Theory"--which is simply the practice of criticizing everything about our civilization and culture--in the implementation of cultural Marxism.  The German socialist Herbert Marcuse's "Repressive" versus "Liberating Tolerance" goes to this point and aim.  The aim is to destroy traditional values and the strength of our culture.  Leftists will thus use even ideas fundamentally at odds with their pseudo-values--e.g., Islam and Jihadism--as tools to tear down our culture.  As the Legged One, Ann Coulter puts it, "If it wasn't for terrorism, liberals would hate Muslims."

 

In addition, of course, there is the intimidation factor of anything to do with Islam.  Islam is inherently violent in its spirituality (so-called "moderate" Muslims are frankly like homosexual Christians, alcohol-consuming Sikhs, and Shabbot-breaking Jews--probably good people, but not true to their professed faith), and any opposition to it can easily lead to one losing his or her head--LITERALLY!  No doubt this fear--one which no one need hold for any other faith--influences some of what the report below discusses, and empowers other aspects of it. 

 

Perhaps the biggest evil of libertarianism (not "liberalism," liberTARIANism) and individualism is that they strip a society of any ability to put up a united and cohesive front against its cultural enemies, foreign and/or domestic.  The phenomena of Leftist indoctrination and Jihadist intimidation are conclusive demonstrations of the need for even a free society to exercise some serious and pointed, uh, "controls" in its societal life and discourse.
