Islam is an inherently violent, jihad-focused spirituality. "Moderate" Muslims indeed exist--as do homosexual Christians, Shabbot-breaking observant Jews, and alcohol-drinking Sikhs.  They may be sincere, decent people, and possibly even worthy allies in GWOT, but they are frankly at odds with their professed faith.
