Pittsburgh City Council votes to ban cat declawing (wtae.com)


PITTSBURGH —

Pittsburgh City Council moved forward with a plan to ban the declawing of cats in the city Tuesday.

Council voted in favor of the plan to ban declawing, unless medically necessary.


Experts who spoke in front of City Council said the procedure requires a veterinarian to amputate bones in a cat's paws.Violators who are caught declawing a cat for any other reason could face up to a $500 fine.

It can cause pain, as well as behavioral and health issues.

The ordinance now heads to Mayor Bill Peduto's desk.

Price jump in crisis situations supposedly makes people only buy what they need, leaving some for others. It has its weaknesses to say the least, but it's the nature of our economic system. MY COMMENT : (VIDEO WAS SPONSORED BY A COMPANY SELLING SUCH GEAR.) Non-vet civilians will never (legitimately) be running fire-and-maneuver calling for all that gear. In a real and legitimate Militia situation they will be fire support, set-position defense, and logistics. A simple mag pack is quite sufficient. Beyond that, anything much more than a pack or such for evacuating in a disaster is a hobby at best and a delusion at worst. I'm a vet. I served in a combat zone. I have a vest, CamelBak, and pack which I acquired during my service, and keep solely to be able to quickly bug out of town in a disaster, be it on foot or in an official evac vehicle with limited space. To non-vet LARPers: Buy what you want. Support this guy's sponsor. But keep in mind you are NOT the same as veterans. You lack the training and DISCIPLINE that veterans had drilled into them.
