Upshot on Comey testimony--Trump not involved in collusion seemed a given!

Upshot on Comey hearings:

1. Comey's firing came three months, many events, lousy performance, and one Rosenstein memo AFTER the talk about Flynn. Not fired "summarily," as one Senator suggested.
2. Trump is not and was not under personal investigation in the Russia investigation, and indeed wanted the job done right, even though it was a cloud interfering with his doing his job.
3. Comey was too wimpy to deal with the President on places he was feeling "uncomfortable."
4. MSM reports of massive Russian contacts with Trump campaign debunked.
5. And this is the whole crux of the hearing: Trump expressed his "hope" only about one "good man," not the whole Russia investigation. Whereas Trump could have ordered nothing further be done with Flynn and his mistakes but did not, and whereas the firing is so far removed from that issue as to be unconnected, there was no obstruction.

The hearing will be played up by both sides, with anti-Trump people SCREAMING for impeachment for "obstruction." In the next 24 hours or so, cooler legal and political heads will prevail, the whole thing put into a realistic context, and ultimately the truth will be seen: Trump is a strong individual not given to DC political ways. At worst, he made a mistake with the Flynn talk, though never informed about it. Most likely, he just operated in a way Flynn was too weak to handle.

Comey's a leaker for revenge

Or as another says:

"Mr. Trump goes to Washington," or, "New York values meet DC swamp norms"

In the context of all the backstabbing and obstruction being received from the "Resistance" even at that early stage, "loyalty" points to upholding one oath's, not violating it.

Key articles on release of Comey testimony

Rather balanced and at times critical:

Demonstrative of total lack of intent to obstruct Russia investigation (if fact, he encouraged the investigation):

Confirmation that Comey indeed informed and confirmed to Trump that he himself was not under investigation:

And just for fun:

MY TAKE ON THIS:

Trump's biggest mistake or misstep in all of this is his talk to Comey specifically about the Flynn investigation.  He was (is) a newcomer to the political and government field, and thus raised concern in his expression of concern and hope for a good man (Flynn).
