Napolitano's meeting "all flash, no substance"

Dear Lee,

"What surprised many of the attendees was the fact that not once did Napolitano mention Islamic extremism or Muslim terrorists."

So writes Washington Examiner reporter Jim Kouri below (highlights added). But this isn't a surprise to anyone who has followed our emails the past year or who have watched the DVD in our "Unmasking the Enemy Among Us: Information Warfare and the Muslim Brotherhood" package.

For instance, in that DVD we point out that the Obama administration's 2009 national strategic assessment stripped out every reference to radical Islam, Islamic terrorism, jihad, and the like.

For the past three days we have highlighted our "Unmasking the Enemy Among Us" resource because it's imperative that more and more Americans come to understand how the Obama administration is jeopardizing our national security due to its stubborn refusal to identify our enemies for who and what they are.

To find out more about this timely and invaluable resource, click here. You can also go to our Donate page, select the Patriot Partner option, and scroll down to "Exposing the Muslim Brotherhood resource package."

If you know any law enforcement officers or elected officials, this would be an EXCELLENT resource to share with them. They need to know this!

Napolitano's state, local cop meeting on extremism vague, say critics

Napolitano's meeting with cops from across the nation was all flash, but no substance, say her critics.

Jim Kouri

Office Law Enforcement Examiner

January 18, 2012

Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, Attorney General Eric Holder and Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism John Brennan today at the White House met with senior state, local and tribal law enforcement officials to discuss the President Barack Obama's Strategic Implementation Plan for Empowering Local Partners to Prevent Violent Extremism in the United States.

What surprised many of the attendees was the fact that not once did Napolitano mention Islamic extremism or Muslim terrorists. Many of the police commanders attending found the presentation to be a "vague and politically correct" exercise.

Those invited were sheriffs and chiefs of police from states, cities and counties throughout the U.S., including representatives from the organizations such as International Association of Chiefs of Police, Major Cities Chiefs Association, National Sheriffs' Association, National Native American Law Enforcement Association, Governors Homeland Security Advisors Council, Criminal Intelligence Coordinating Council, International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators, and others.

"Engaging local communities is critical to our nation's effort to counter violent extremism and violent crime, and this meeting brings together many of our partners," said Secretary Napolitano. "The Department of Homeland Security will continue to collaborate with our state and local law enforcement partners and engage the public in our efforts to combat violent extremism, while protecting civil rights and civil liberties."

But throughout the meeting, it was noticeable that was no mention of Islamic terrorists -- including homegrown radicalized American Muslims - during the Obama White House meeting.

Secretary Napolitano discussed her department's support of local communities by enhancing already existing partnerships of federal, state and local law enforcement such as joint task forces, but she neglected to discuss Joint Terrorism Task Forces, such as the successful group of New York City police officers and agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

"I find it astounding how [Secretary] Napolitano could be so longwinded yet never once used the words "Islamic," "Islamists," "Muslim terrorists," or any names of known terror groups. It's as if Holder and Napolitano never read the report issued by the House Committee on Homeland Security, chaired by Congressman Peter King during 2011," said one of the attendees who requested anonymity since his superior is a Democrat mayor.

Rep. King of New York endured much criticism for holding a series of hearings as part of his probe of homegrown Islamic terrorism and so-called "lone wolf" terrorists.

Napolitano mentioned expanding government grants to counter violent extremism and violent crime regardless of ideology, but neglected to mention religious extremism as practiced by al-Qaeda, Al Shabaab, Hamas, Hezbollah, Army of Islam and the Muslim Brotherhood.

The former Arizona governor stated that "DHS is continuing to implement recommendations from the DHS Homeland Security Advisory Council Countering Violent Extremism Working Group, such as developing a curriculum for state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement focused on a community-oriented policing approach to countering violent extremism and violent crime."

Her priority however was the DHS' Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties which she said is dedicated to educating communities and state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement on cultural awareness across the nation.

"Cultural awareness? How about the fact Islamic terrorists want to murder Americans and destroy the Western world and its practice of pluralism and religious freedom?" asks attorney and political strategist Mike Baker.

During her presentation, Secretary Napolitano reiterated President Obama's call for Congress to take action to prevent layoffs of law enforcement and first responders, and keep our communities safe by passing legislation such as the American Jobs Act. The legislation would provide $5 billion in assistance to states and local communities to create or save thousands of law enforcement and first responder jobs across the country.

DHS has also collaborated with federal, state, local, and private sector partners, and the general public, to expand the "If You See Something, Say Something™" campaign. Originally implemented by New York City's Metropolitan Transportation Authority and now licensed to DHS for a nationwide campaign, the "If You See Something, Say Something™" campaign is a simple and effective program to engage the public to identify and report indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to the proper transportation and law enforcement authorities, said Napolitano.

"Unfortunately, Napolitano failed to give examples of "when you see what, what do you say and to whom do you say it" in light of the Obama Administration's broad definition of 'racial profiling,'" Baker said.

Obama administration
and the Muslim
Brotherhood

Dear Lee,

How we wish it weren't so, but the facts are clear. Numerous articles and columns, including the one by Barry Rubin (below), document how the Obama administration is sidling up to the Muslim Brotherhood.

This is not only affecting our foreign policy vis a vis countries like Egypt. It's also affecting our domestic national security apparatus, as we'll show you in an upcoming email. "Troubling" does not adequately define what is happening.

It's impossible to fully understand the threat radical Islam poses to America without understanding the Muslim Brotherhood. To save you the hours and hours it would take researching the MB, we've made it easy for you: "Unmasking the Enemy Among Us: Information Warfare and the Muslim Brotherhood."

To find out more about this timely and invaluable resource, click here. You can also go to our Donate page, select the Patriot Partner option, and scroll down to "Exposing the Muslim Brotherhood resource package."

This resource will arm you with the facts and documentation you need to understand why the MB is such a threat and who its front organizations are in the U.S. Not only will you be informed, but you can share this with others who don't yet understand exactly what we're up against here!

Obama Supports the Muslim Brotherhood-Muslim Brotherhood Sees Weakness

By Barry Rubin

Not only is the Obama Administration, as I've written for the last year, favoring radical Islamist forces–despite the fact that these are anti-Western, pro-terrorism, building dictatorships, and openly antisemitic and anti-Christian–but now
even the establishment media is admitting it.

A friend of mine said, "Oh, they are probably saying that the Brotherhood is sounding radical publicly but privately reassuring U.S. officials that they are moderate."

"No," I replied. "That's the old way of doing things when it was important to be, or at least to pretend to be, somewhat balanced. Now they say that the Brotherhood sounds moderate both publicly–ignoring all evidence to the contrary–and privately. Those who disagree are merely Republicans trying to defeat Obama in the election, and so should be ignored. The mass media today in such matters is worse than our worst nightmares of a decade ago."

And so for the first time in U.S. history an American government, to the applause of the vast majority of the mass media, is backing an anti-American authoritarian movement. Here's how the New York Times explains it:

"The Obama administration has begun to reverse decades of mistrust and hostility as it seeks to forge closer ties with an organization [the Muslim Brotherhood] once viewed as irreconcilably opposed to United States interests."

Any serious foreign policy analyst should see three red flags in this paragraph:

First, of course the U.S. government must deal with Egypt's government but that doesn't mean it should publicly proclaim that the Brotherhood is a nice group and give what amounts to an unconditional endorsement of it.

Indeed, the Obama Administration and media are using a cheap trick. They confuse the proper, responsible policy of dealing with those in power wihile doi ng something quite beyond that: a self-destructive policy of rushing to insist that sworn enemies of freedom and the United States are really nice guys and there's no problem with having them in power.

As I've written before, it's possible to elect a dictatorship. The Egyptian people have a right to do so but that doesn't mean the West should like it.

Doesn't anyone remember that the Obama Administration has been apologizing for all the bad regimes America supported in the past? Now Obama is using the exact same argument: claiming that we must be nice to them because they are in power. What's the difference between that and the historic relationship to the Mubarak regime? At least Mubarak supported U.S. interests. These people don't. They have openly supported murdering Americans, especially in Iraq!

In 1979 an Islamist revolution occurred in Iran. The United States quickly recognized that new regime and tried to be buddies with it. We all know how that worked out.

Second, why should the burden of reversing "decades of mistrust and hostility" be exclusively on the United States. Doesn't the Brotherhood, which benefits from U.S. engagement, need to do that also or even beforehand? Why is there no conditionality here, no hint that the Obama Administration or New York Times understands how hostile the Brotherhood has been and continues to be? If the U.S. president won't demand a quid pro quo (something in exchange for his concessions) who is going to look after U.S. interests?

Third, by saying the Brotherhood was "once viewed as irreconcilably opposed to United States interests" the author suggests this is no longer true. We know that the Obama Administration thinks the Brotherhood has changed. Yet there is no evidence in terms of deeds, ideology, or statement made in Arabic that the Brotherhood has done so.

Thus, Obama has given away all U.S. leverage and assets beforehand, just as he did by announcing a year ago, during the revolution's opening days, that he would be happy to accept a Muslim Brotherhood government.

So the Brotherhood's moderation is assumed. The science is settled; the debate is over.

"The reversal also reflects the administration's growing acceptance of the Brotherhood's repeated assurances that its lawmakers want to build a modern democracy that will respect individual freedoms, free markets and international commitments, including Egypt's treaty with Israel."

Wow, yes that's it. The Obama Administration believes what the Brotherhood says and not what has been said by Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and others including many moderate Egyptians. No one has bothered to look at the actual radical record of Brotherhood lawmakers in the last parliament! Obama has chosen his friends and he's on the wrong side.

The real lesson of Ron Paul's "Golden Rule" for foreign policy

On Ron Paul's "Golden Rule" proposal for foreign policy, he's making one key mistake. The rule is meant to call for acting toward others the way that you as a reasonable and decent person would want to be treated. The problem is that we are dealing with an enemy which is neither reasonable nor decent. Essentially, he would have us say, "If we as a reasonable and decent nation/society/civilization were acting out as Shariah-pushing Jihadis out to establish the World Caliphate..." Now obviously there is a serious problem with the application Paul wants us to use. And where something is odd in the set-up, the application of a basic rule might also be odd.
-
Consider this closer-to-home--and honestly, more likely--scenario as an analogy (that means, it has a similar pattern that can illustrate a principle, so please, no one get drawn off on this issue as such or write back, "But, uhhhh, whad's dat got ta doo wit da war?"): By his argument, a rape victim should not plug his or her rapist with a 9mm automatic because the victim would not want to be so plugged. In that case, his application has the victim saying, "If I (a reasonable and decent person) was engaging in a rape..." Again, the same problem. But let's carry it through: "... what would I want the victim to do?" A reasonable and decent person--the only kind who would pay any heed to this general rule of morality--would have to answer as follows: "Well, I don't want the victim raped. I don't want anyone else raped. I must acknowledge that what I am doing--whatever the reason--is so wrong as to warrant any force necessary be used against me to stop me. I WANT TO BE STOPPED!" Such a person might go on to think, "And since I'm obviously so out of control and lacking in decency as to be this way, maybe I should be tortured into changing my ways, or simply destroyed."
-
And so, we have the answer: Applying the Golden Rule to the foreign policy situation would lead to the conclusion that we should basically bomb the pogies out of the entire Muslim world--or as George Washington said of the Barbary Pirate states (the Jihadis of his time): use our military power to "reform those enemies to mankind, or crush them into non-existence" ( http://www.teachingamericanhistory.org/library/index.asp?document=321 ).
-
Kinda reminds one of this PHOTOSHOPPED picture ("PhotoShopped" means it's not real, so don't start another false email I have to knock down):
-
So maybe Mr. Paul makes a point after all. Just not the point he, his libertarian-minded followers, or his fellow ZOG believers wanted to make.

A chance for a hero -- Fw: Great News: Military's Highest Appellate Court to Hear Michael's Case

Pardoning people like this and locking up their persecutors for trial in about, oh, 50 years should be at the top of the next President's agenda.

Subject: Great News: Military's Highest Appellate Court to Hear Michael's Case
To the thousands of supporters of 1Lt Michael Behenna,
Great news as the Court of Appeals of the Armed Forces (CAAF) has agreed to hear issues in Michael's case.  Specifically the CAAF will be reviewing the Brady Violation (prosecutors non-disclosure of favorable evidence) and the Military Judge's faulty self-defense instruction to the jury. Your many prayers of discernment have been answered and we are so grateful because the CAAF was our last chance to have Michael's conviction overturned.  It is important to note that the CAAF hears very few cases each year and fortunately Michael's case will be one of them.
The time line for the appellate process begins with Michael's attorney filing a brief on the two focused issues within 30-60 days and then the Military will respond in roughly the same amount of time. The CAAF can then set oral argument in Washington, DC and a decision thereafter. It is our hope that we could get a favorable decision by late summer. That seems like a long time, but it is a relatively compact time frame for an appellate process.  I've included some media links below if you would like to learn more about the CAAF acceptance of Michael's case:

On a much more somber note we received very disappointing news that the Army Clemency Board denied Michael's annual request for Clemency (reduction in his sentence).  We presented Michael's case before the Army Clemency and Parole Board on January 5, 2012 in Washington, DC. The Board consisted of three Colonels, an Army lawyer, and an Administrator who had previously served on the Board. We presented Michael's case to the Board for over an hour and primarily focused on the disparity of sentencing of Michael's case compared to all other unpremeditated military cases occurring in the Iraqi theater and how Michael's case had morphed from what the government originally tried as an execution to the current court rulings that Michael lost his right to defend himself.
Part of the duties of the Clemency Board is to create uniformity in disparate sentencing, so we presented seven other war zone unpremeditated murder cases to the Board to show that Michael's sentence of 15 years was substantially higher than the other Soldier's sentences. The seven other Soldiers cases resulted in sentences ranging from 1-11 years, with an average of 6 years.  Unfortunately, the Board denied any Clemency to Michael and the ONLY suggestion they offered was that Michael in the future should stay out of trouble in prison.  This is such a sham as Michael has been a model prisoner for almost 3 years, is teaching himself Spanish, and has read several hundred books on philosophy, politics, religion, and current events.  Michael is not a threat to anyone and could easily assimilate into society if he were released.
We plan on writing to the Assistant Secretary of the Army Catherine Mitrano concerning the denial and failure to provide any constructive plan for what is expected of Michael to receive Clemency. We know that many of you wrote letters to Mitrano in support of Michael's Clemency.  Please consider drafting a short response to Mitrano expressing displeasure in the Board not granting Clemency to Michael whose sentence remains significantly higher than cases of a similar nature; and not outlining a plan for Michael to obtain Clemency in the future.  Her address is:
Deputy Assistant Secretary Catherine Mitrano
c/o Army Clemency and Parole Board
1901 South Bell Street
Arlington, VA 22202

So the fight continues for justice for Michael.  We are so thankful for all of your prayers and words of support.  Michael remains very positive through all of this and is very focused on making the most of his situation.  Please continue to send him your cards and letters as mail call remains his favorite time of the day!
Yours in the fight for justice,
Scott & Vicki Behenna
