My call-in to a Teabrainer Blogtalk show today (01 APR 2021).

Topic was the so-called, "Citizens' Grand Jury."

It is a crock and a grift.

Point of my call: "Citizens' Grand Jury" is not authoritative in any way. Lawyer tried to obfuscate with debatable history. Host acknowledged my point.

Interesting part is that if such a procedure was valid, then a couple of dozen of your neighbors could "investigate" you as a jury and subpoena you for testimony and evidence. An "indictment" by them would restrict your rights (including RKBA). The list goes on. The more private practice in past centuries was not an expression of a private "right," but rather a less sophisticated practice in some areas, like the less-settled Old West.
