"Close" isn't good enough

          By Kelly Cook,
          National Field Director

Dear Lee,

I oversee our national grassroots efforts, and as you know, this year ACT! for America led the grassroots effort that got "American Laws for American Courts" (ALAC) passed in Kansas.

ALAC prohibits state judges from applying foreign law, which would include sharia law, when doing so conflicts with constitutional rights.

I can't tell you how proud I am of how our chapter leaders and members in Kansas "stepped up to the plate." They generated over 30,000 emails and phone calls to state legislators!

But what most people don't know is how agonizingly close we got to victory in Florida.

In the Florida House of Representatives, ALAC passed 92 – 24.

The bill passed every committee vote in the state senate, and was then scheduled for a vote on the floor of the state senate. We knew we had the votes to pass it. But back-room politics prevailed and the bill never came to a vote.

Groups like CAIR are doing everything they can to derail ALAC and stall our momentum, including putting out completely false information.

They've seen us get ALAC passed in Tennessee, Arizona and now in Kansas.

But it's always easier to STOP something from passing than to PASS it—especially when opponents are willing to stoop to saying things that simply aren't true.

And what happened in Florida is a prime example of this—getting so close, but coming up just a little short.

We worked hard in Florida, and I couldn't be prouder of everything our chapter leaders and members did there.

But if we're going to keep moving forward, we need to bring more human and financial resources to bear—"reinforcements"—to prevent what happened in Florida from happening again.

That's why we need your help.

If you've seen our recent emails, you know that we've been winning a lot of victories.

But we're not satisfied with getting "close." Getting "close" won't cut it in our battle against radical Islam. Nothing short of victory is acceptable.

That's why I'm asking for your help and support today for our Spring Pledge drive.

Your monthly Patriot Partner gift or single Contributing Member gift will provide us the precious funds we need to sustain our momentum—and help ensure that in 2013 we don't just come close in states like Florida.

But that we win!

  • Simply visit here to make a Patriot Partner monthly gift—the backbone of our support.

  • To make a single gift visit here.
Our online process is simple, safe and secure.

When you make a contribution we'll send you a valuable resource as our "thank you," such as an autographed book or a DVD about the Muslim Brotherhood. These resources are listed online here and correspond to the various contribution levels.

Thank you for helping us keep up the momentum. I look forward to this time next year sending out a report to you of how we prevailed in states like Florida!

Yours for freedom,

Kelly Cook
