UPDATE: More info here.  It was a 20-lb feral cat, and the guy was legitimately defending himself.  Sad about the cat, but still... THE GUY GOT HIS ASS KICKED BY A CAT!

It was around 1 p.m. when investigators said Gibson (the human) came home and found a 20-pound tabby standing in the middle of his living room staring back at him. Scared, police said, the man grabbed a knife to try to protect himself.

But seconds later, the feral cat attacked him in the bathroom, authorities said.

Gibson admitted he stabbed the cat multiple times, but could not remember anything else.

MY COMMENT : (VIDEO WAS SPONSORED BY A COMPANY SELLING SUCH GEAR.) Non-vet civilians will never (legitimately) be running fire-and-maneuver calling for all that gear. In a real and legitimate Militia situation they will be fire support, set-position defense, and logistics. A simple mag pack is quite sufficient. Beyond that, anything much more than a pack or such for evacuating in a disaster is a hobby at best and a delusion at worst. I'm a vet. I served in a combat zone. I have a vest, CamelBak, and pack which I acquired during my service, and keep solely to be able to quickly bug out of town in a disaster, be it on foot or in an official evac vehicle with limited space. To non-vet LARPers: Buy what you want. Support this guy's sponsor. But keep in mind you are NOT the same as veterans. You lack the training and DISCIPLINE that veterans had drilled into them.
