Did you see it?  That glimmer of humility in 0bama's eyes as he gave his "concession" speech Wednesday?  Me neither – mostly because he never made eye contact with anyone.  No matter how much he tried to look and sound like he's willing to work with the new majority in Congress, it didn't work.  Think about this: 0bama has NEVER  lost anything in his (charmed) life.  He has been chosen, pampered, cajoled and put on a pedestal his entire political career.  He has never lost an election – EVER.  And he lost big-time Tuesday.  The man does not have a conciliatory bone in his body and that won't change now.  So look for a more defiant 0bama…one who will blame the GOP (aka "enemies") even more than ever.  While we can celebrate the big gains the American people made in this election, we can't rest on our laurels.  We fired Pelosi, now we need to fire 0bama in 2012, and we need to start working on that goal TODAY. Can you hear us now???????   Election Post-Mortems You've all seen the stats so I'm not going to re-hash the events.  But I've included below my two favorite analyses of the election.  This was HUGE people!  Don't let anyone tell you differently. From Erick Erickson at Red State: This is an unusual Morning Briefing because you need to understand what happened while you've been sleeping.  Republican gains are massive. And when I say Republican gains are massive, I mean tsunami.  No, the GOP did not take the Senate and some races are still outstanding, but the Senate GOP has moved to the right. More so, the Republicans picking up, in the worst case, seven seats is historically strong.  But consider that as you wake up this morning the Republican Party has picked up more seats in the House of Representatives than at any time since 1948 – that is more than sixty seats. Ike Skelton, Class of 1976, is gone. Many, many other Democrats are gone.  That, in and of itself, is significant. But that's not the half of it. The real story is the underreported story of the night – the Republican pick ups at the state level. There will be 18 states subject to reapportionment. The Republicans will control a majority of those – at least ten and maybe a dozen or more. More significantly, a minimum of seventeen state legislative houses have flipped to the Republican Party. The North Carolina Legislature is Republican for the first time since 1870. Yes, that is Eighteen Seventy. The Alabama Legislature is Republican for the first time since 1876. For those saying this is nothing because it is the South, consider these: The entire Wisconsin and New Hampshire legislatures have flipped to the GOP by wide margins. The State Houses in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, Iowa, Montana, and Colorado flipped to the GOP. The Maine and Minnesota Senates flipped to the GOP. The Texas and Tennessee Houses went from virtually tied to massive Republican gains. The gains in Texas were so big that the Republicans no longer need the Democrats to get state constitutional amendments out of the state legislature. These gains go all the way down to the municipal level across the nation. That did not happen even in 1994. This was a tsunami. Diversity: Women, Hispanics and two African-American congressmen-elect rode the GOP wave to victory. Sorry, Mr. President, these Republicans will not ride in the back of the bus. They intend to drive it. During the campaign, Col. Allen West speculated on the possibility of joining the Congressional Black Caucus. "I think I have every right to. I would be in Congress, and I would be black and so I should be able to sit with them and, again, bring a different perspective," he said in an interview with the Daily Caller. Congressman-elect West will get that chance now that the Sarah Palin-backed Afghan War veteran has emerged victorious in Florida's 22nd Congressional District, ousting two-term Democratic incumbent Ron Klein. "Now, I really presume that the CBC will just change their name to preclude me from joining it," he said. "But that's OK; I'll start my own caucus." The Congressional Black Caucus is a living stereotype perpetuating the myth that being black and being Democrat are synonymous and that the GOP is the party of angry white males. The Republican Party has shown that it can broaden its base and that blacks and other minorities have options. I am certain of one thing, however: if Rove did read it, he didn't understand it...     ---------------------------   That first paragraph (and first two sentences of the second) have to be among the most unbelieveable expressions ever to hit C4P.  I've had my issues with C4P, but this one goes beyond mere "issues."  Tea Partiers are by and large not educated on such matters.  The vast majority have never even heard of "'Austrian School' economics," and every single one of your Tea Partier readers knows it.  If they are honest, they will admit to complete ignorance of those high-falootin' people.   Now, I'm the first to admit that not an economist and didn't know those names myself.  (Just tell me how much gasoline and ammo will cost, and I'm done with economic matters.)  My point was that a movement dominated by people who can't even spell "did'nt" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMdPTpOyUk4 , go to 1:12 point) probably doesn't have a lot of people who've read much German (Austrians are ethnic German) beyond "Hansel and Gretel".  More likely, they would hear "Austrian School" and all those "von" names, and label the whole thing "Nazi," because the ejeemakated ones would know Hitler was born Austrian.   [T]he works of von Hayek, Friedman, von Mises, Hazlitt, and other adherents of "Austrian School" economics figure prominently in our discussions....In fact, I have no doubt that the average Tea Partier knows far more about the writings of von Hayek than the politicos who occupy the beltway.   Someone tell me they honestly believe that about these people below:   Screenshot from video--note bottom middle sign.   Not only does this scene make Tea Partiers look stupid, it actually counters the effect intended.  The video is a response to Keith Olber-notaman's complaint about the lack of "people of color" in the TPM.  So some idiot in the Dallas group puts this video together and is either too stupid to spell, too dumb to realize how this makes them look, and/or too desperate for scenes of such people at TPM events that he includes that one picture here.    Now, to give the C4P writer the benefit of a not-so-existent doubt, it's barely possible he simply means that Tea Partiers have a better grasp of those writers' economic values like "Don't spend so much!" than the bigwigs in DC.  Yet if that's what he meant, he said it very, to borrow a term from Obamessiah, stupidly.  He speaks specifically of their "works" and "writings," not simply the ideas included in their works and writings.  If this defense is correct, he is either merely a bit delusional, or he thinks that using terms like "works" and "writings" makes the TPM sound a lot more educated and intelligent than even they might think they are.  Either way, his "works" and "writings" here show actually turn around to show Rove--the man who admits he failed his President by not combating the anti-Iraq War lies--to have a point.

SQ 755 was a state constitutional amendment that will prohibit Oklahoma courts from using sharia law in deciding cases. It passed overwhelmingly last night with 70% support! But this outcome was by no means a foregone conclusion. On October 7th, a poll was released with these results on SQ 755: 45% in favor, 25% opposed, 30% undecided. Two major newspapers editorialized against it. The CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) affiliate in Oklahoma spoke out repeatedly against it in the media with its shop-worn "Islamophobia" propaganda. We here at ACT! for America surmised that the high undecided percentage reflected voter misunderstanding of the issue AND confusion as to which way to vote on the initiative. And when voters are confused on a ballot initiative like this, they tend to either not vote on it or vote against it. On October 18th ACT! for America launched a two-week statewide radio ad in support of SQ 755. Then, on October 21st, 26th, and November 1st we dropped a total of 600,000 automated calls to Oklahoma voters with a message urging support of SQ 755 from James Woolsey, former director of the CIA. Additionally, we placed an editorial in one of the state's major newspapers, sent multiple emails to our members, and conducted several radio and print media interviews. The 70% support demonstrates that our efforts to educate the voters and clear up any confusion were immensely successful. This 70% victory was significant because this was the first time voters had a chance to vote in a statewide election on the issue of sharia law. The overwhelming margin sends an unequivocal message to Islamic organizations and Muslims, such as Ground Zero Mosque Imam Rauf, who advocate sharia law for America—sharia law is not welcome here! As for the other election results, from the ACT! for America perspective the most important consequence is that "the power of the gavel" will switch in the U.S. House of Representatives. By this I mean key committees, such as the Homeland Security Committee, will likely be chaired by Members of Congress who truly understand the threat radical Islam poses to our national security and who will have a different list of priorities regarding what bills to consider and hearings to hold. The legislative calendar, controlled by the Speaker of the House, will also reflect different priorities regarding what bills to bring to a vote before the full House. This is a MAJOR step forward in our legislative efforts on Capitol Hill. Bills we supported this year that didn't even get a committee hearing will receive the serious and thoughtful consideration they deserve. Prospects for House passage during the next two years of some of our legislative priorities have improved dramatically as a result of last night's election results. Without question, most voters were making their decisions based on concerns about the economy, jobs, federal spending and ballooning deficits, and what became known as "ObamaCare." But as exits polls I saw revealed, voter concerns about national security were lurking just beneath the surface. Americans are aware of the increase in homegrown jihadism and there is a growing consciousness about the threat of sharia law.
