This YouTuber makes a point of parallels to the Confederacy, with two elements of note:
1. He says it should be "concerning."
2. He makes a case that Josh Whedon, the creator of the series, was planning to take a shot at Southern "revisionist" history with it, had it continued.

My comments:

1. Sounds like the show ended just in time, before Whedon could turn it into a PC vehicle.

2. Regarding the Confederate parallels, you're forgetting that in 2002 people weren't so "woke" and anti-White as today. It would not have been seen as it is today. You're close to guilty of cultural relativism.



A shame for that YouTuber to curse such a great pre-Woke show like that.

MY COMMENT : (VIDEO WAS SPONSORED BY A COMPANY SELLING SUCH GEAR.) Non-vet civilians will never (legitimately) be running fire-and-maneuver calling for all that gear. In a real and legitimate Militia situation they will be fire support, set-position defense, and logistics. A simple mag pack is quite sufficient. Beyond that, anything much more than a pack or such for evacuating in a disaster is a hobby at best and a delusion at worst. I'm a vet. I served in a combat zone. I have a vest, CamelBak, and pack which I acquired during my service, and keep solely to be able to quickly bug out of town in a disaster, be it on foot or in an official evac vehicle with limited space. To non-vet LARPers: Buy what you want. Support this guy's sponsor. But keep in mind you are NOT the same as veterans. You lack the training and DISCIPLINE that veterans had drilled into them.
