6. My "Homeland Defense Rifle"/"Militia Rifle"--featureless OFFICIAL 2A-protected longarm--concept that I've been pushing some since Heller in 2008 and heavy since Sandy Hook remains valid. It will definitely be a topic for an upcoming TDF edition.

I first conceived of this after the 2008 Heller decision. My thought was to work out a settlement on an official rifle that would be fairly PC but provide requisite Militia firepower. That eventually evolved, building up increased focus due to recent gun control efforts.

Please consider this from the perspective of Militia efficacy and a realistic view of the military ability of the general gun-owning population, not purism or personal libertarian preference or indulgence.

ADDENDUM: A 7.62mm M1 Garand might be the ultimate uber-PC take on this concept:


My aim is the efficacy of the civilian Militia of the American nation. Sometimes that means working through laws of varying wisdom, and sometimes it means acting despite the stupidity of our own people. So be it.

Price jump in crisis situations supposedly makes people only buy what they need, leaving some for others. It has its weaknesses to say the least, but it's the nature of our economic system. MY COMMENT : (VIDEO WAS SPONSORED BY A COMPANY SELLING SUCH GEAR.) Non-vet civilians will never (legitimately) be running fire-and-maneuver calling for all that gear. In a real and legitimate Militia situation they will be fire support, set-position defense, and logistics. A simple mag pack is quite sufficient. Beyond that, anything much more than a pack or such for evacuating in a disaster is a hobby at best and a delusion at worst. I'm a vet. I served in a combat zone. I have a vest, CamelBak, and pack which I acquired during my service, and keep solely to be able to quickly bug out of town in a disaster, be it on foot or in an official evac vehicle with limited space. To non-vet LARPers: Buy what you want. Support this guy's sponsor. But keep in mind you are NOT the same as veterans. You lack the training and DISCIPLINE that veterans had drilled into them.
