*** MISSOURI ACTION ALERT! *** CAIR AND UNITED VOICES FOR AMERICA CONTINUE THEIR
DISTORTIONS AND LIES ABOUT MISSOURI'S
AMERICAN LAWS FOR AMERICAN COURTS LEGISLATION
WE NEED YOUR HELP TODAY TO COUNTER THIS! by Lisa Piraneo, Director of Government Relations and
Kelly Cook, National Field Director

Dear Lee,

During the month of March, we have seen tremendous progress in both the Missouri House and Senate regarding the American Laws for American Courts (ALAC) legislation. This progress is due primarily to action by our Missouri grassroots, and for that we cannot thank you enough.

As a reminder, Representative Paul Curtman is the sponsor of the ALAC bill in the House (HB1512) and Senator Brian Nieves is the sponsor of the legislation in the Senate (SB676). Both of these proposals would protect Missourians from foreign laws or legal doctrines where the application of those laws/doctrines would violate those constitutional rights. It's that simple.

Representative Curtman's bill, HB1512, has passed in the House of Representatives and we now need to see the same happen in the Senate with SB676.

Though we are inching closer to the finish line in the Missouri legislature, we are not yet across it. Further, the more progress we make, the more our opponents throw out lies and distortions about the legislation—their usual scare tactics.

It is critical that our voices of support drown out these falsehoods, so the Missouri legislature understands the truth about this common-sense ALAC legislation and—more importantly—that the legislators see the strong support these bills have by the majority of Missourians.

Over the last weeks, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and United Voices for America have been pounding the Missouri legislature hard in opposition to the ALAC proposals—using their usual blatantly false scare tactics.

The American Public Policy Alliance (APPA), who has been working with us to see ALAC legislation passed all across our nation, recently put together a video that demonstrates—and responds to—CAIR's false accusations about the Missouri ALAC legislation. If you haven't seen it already, please take a look and forward it on to others who share your support for ALAC legislation in Missouri.

** ACTION ITEM **

We need your help TODAY in sending a strong message of support for SB676 to the Missouri state Senate. Further, please forward this request to everyone you know.

In your own words, please respectfully relay the following message to your Missouri state Senator:

Dear Senator _________________,

I urge you to support and co-sponsor SB676, introduced by Senator Brian Nieves, in order to protect the constitutional rights of Missourians from the incursion of foreign laws and foreign legal doctrines. We must maintain the authority of the Missouri and U.S. Constitutions.

This bill is of the utmost importance to me!

Thank you for your leadership on this vital matter.

Sincerely,

(Your name and city)

Thank you again for all of your efforts. We will get ALAC legislation passed in Missouri with your continued help!

REMEMBER, YOUR VOICE COUNTS!
IF EACH OF US DOES JUST A LITTLE, TOGETHER WE CAN
ACCOMPLISH A LOT!
