*** IMPORTANT MISSOURI ACTION ALERT! *** WE NEED YOUR HELP TODAY TO SEE MISSOURI'S
AMERICAN LAWS FOR AMERICAN COURTS LEGISLATION
(THE CIVIL LIBERTIES DEFENSE ACT)
PASSED DURING THIS SESSION!
by Lisa Piraneo, Director of Government Relations and
Kelly Cook, National Field Director

Dear Lee,

We are moving closer to victory in Missouri regarding the American Laws for American Courts (ALAC) legislation. We need another push by our Missouri grassroots so that we can see this important bill cross the finish line!

As a reminder, Representative Paul Curtman is the sponsor of the ALAC bill in the House (HB1512) and Senator Brian Nieves is the sponsor of the legislation in the Senate (SB676). Both of these proposals would protect Missourians from foreign laws or legal doctrines where the application of those laws/doctrines would violate those constitutional rights. It's that simple.

Representative Curtman's bill, HB1512, has passed in the House of Representatives and is expected to now be considered in the Senate. We have been told that the bill will be placed on the Senate calendar, but we must let the Senate Majority Leader, Tom Dempsey, know that Missourians expect HB1512, the Civil Liberties Defense Act, to be brought up for a vote during this session.

Therefore, we need your help immediately with the action item noted below:

** IMPORTANT ACTION ITEM **

We need your help TODAY in sending a strong message of support for HB1512 to Senator Tom Dempsey, the Senate Majority Leader.

Please forward this request to everyone you know!

The Senator's contact information is as follows:

Tom.Dempsey@senate.mo.gov

(573) 751-1141 or (636) 294-2526

In your own words,
please respectfully relay the following message to Senator Dempsey via an e-mail, or phone call:

Dear Senator Dempsey,

I am writing to let you know of my strong support for HB1512, introduced by Rep. Paul Curtman. HB1512 has already passed in the Missouri House and I would like to see the Senate have an opportunity to vote on it as well during this session.

This proposal is incredibly important in that it protects the constitutional rights of ALL Missourians from the incursion of foreign laws and foreign legal doctrines. We must maintain the authority of the Missouri and U.S. Constitutions.

HB1512 is of the utmost importance to me and I urge you to do whatever you can to see it brought before the full Senate for a vote.

Thank you very much for your leadership on this vital matter.

Sincerely,

[Your name and city]

REMEMBER, YOUR VOICE COUNTS!
IF EACH OF US DOES JUST A LITTLE, TOGETHER WE CAN
ACCOMPLISH A LOT!
