"He Think's He'll Keep Her" -- Feminism self-owned (but great song and performance!!!)

Terrific performance of great-sounding song about why feminism fails:

Woman willingly enters a rather traditional marriage life, gets at least three children and a lifestyle paid for by her husband--with no indication of deprivation, depravity, or unfaithfulness on his part--then chucks it all without regard for the kids in favor of a "typing pool at minimum wage." How appealing is that! <sarcasm>

As for the "not one raise in pay," that's probably not true: More than likely the husband received raises and promotions, which--given the lack of any indication of the aforementioned failings--would actually raise her own lifestyle as provided by her husband. Folks, in the context of housewifery, that IS the very definition of a "raise in pay."

Again, great performance by all here (from 1993 CBS "Women of Country" special). The story? Think about it.

And yes, I know the story behind the times: A tongue-in-cheek line from a 1970s TV ad that even then earned groans, and was intended to be farcical.
