Apparently, if the object of your criticism is willing to go violent in response (and that describes mainstream Muslims), you have no right to criticize them. However, they would retain the right to criticize you if you are one who doesn't go violent.
The Pennsylvania "Judge Jihadi" actually is a Muslim (or should be). Denying one's "Muslim faith" is part of the Islamist doctrine of taqiyya, and it is entirely possible the judge was co-opted while on military deployment to the Middle East. And his ruling no doubt does not mean to apply to all violent people, only Muslims.
